Ivan Alyosha (Easy to Love)

ivanalyoshaIL Ivan & Alyosha (Easy to Love)2011 saw Seattle folk-pop band Ivan & Alyosha play more than 150 shows in support of their EP Fathers Be Kind, highlighted by tours with Brandi Carlile, Aimee Mann, and Hey Rosetta! The EP has been recognized on Amazons Best Music of 2011 Thus Far, with that EPs I Was Born to Love Her ranked at #4 on their Songs You May Have Missed round-up. This echoed the earlier inclusion of Fathers on NPRs Best of the Year (So Far) list.

The band is currently recording their debut album and is eager to build upon their polished west coast soul-folk sound that draws on the poppier sensibilities of McCartney songwriting (American Songwriter). In the spirit of I&A recording,PASTE has premiered an acoustic demo of a new track entitled, On My Way. Additionally, the
band is announcing tour dates to and from SXSW in March and supporting Rosie Thomas in April and May.

NPR Music recently aired Ivan & Alyoshas performance on West Virginia Public Radios Mountain Stage and Daytrotter debuted the band’s session, describing it as “an inspired, flush sound thats as if we were hearing lights, sensing the good feelings of a thousand birds flying” (Daytrotter).

Since the release of Fathers Be Kind in February 2011, the band has gained recognition from American Songwriter, Alarm, and Brooklyn Vegan, has been featured as a band “On The Verge” in Relix Magazine, has recorded sessions for NPRs Tiny Desk Concert series and IFC at SXSW.
